Richard Browne . 1st met him on the touch line with Basil whilst the boys played football. Richard’s knowledge of football wasn’t great as he was a rugby man first. He referred to the goalkeeper as “Goalman”. On the Amersham social scene we regularly ran into Richard and Mandy at house parties. Mandy is a very accomplished and enthusiastic dancer. Whilst Richard was always very enthusiastic about dancing his technique was somewhat interesting. Two left feet springs to mind.
Richard the gentleman is greatly missed by all. Rest well sir

The first time I met Richard was during a cycling awareness course at Woodside School when I was a "tutor" and struggling with the bike checks in my group!
Richard was warm, kindly and incredibly helpful for which I was always hugely appreciative. He really was a gentle giant, bringing humour and self deprecation into our many times together. He was thoughtful and took a genuine interest in others, demanding very little attention for himself or his own needs. His love of rugby and a pint was combined with a gentleness and an ability to communicate with everyone he met.
We will miss him hugely xxxx

Richard, our ‘larger than life’ best friend and Ollie’s Godfather - a funny, entertaining, generous man, a wonderful host (despite a terrible taste in music), sometimes rude but always in the ‘best possible taste’, a wonderful communicator, engaging, open hearted and open minded, if a touch stubborn sometimes! For all these different parts, and oh so many more, we loved you and we will miss you beyond words.
